ICT Powered Machining Software Suite
In the MC-SUITE project led by IK4-IDEKO, the Basque technology centre uses its knowledge of advanced techniques applied in cutting processes and of dynamic effects causing chatter to support in the design of computer aided manufacturing. Furthermore, IK4-IDEKO develops embedded systems for chatter suppression in cyber-physical systems capable of interacting with the environment to perform a self-diagnosis of the situation or of failures. This project is framed within the Horizon 2020 program.
VISIT WEBSITEMC-SUITE pursues to transform conventional manufacturing environments to increase competitiveness, optimise processes and reduce costs. It uses the possibilities offered by information and communication technology (ICT) and cutting edge techniques in advanced manufacturing to make manufacturing processes more efficient. IK4-IDEKO uses its chatter suppression techniques including diagnostic and performance functions in a cyber-physical system.
Applying its 6 modules, MC-SUITE aims to significantly reduce the gap that currently exists between virtual models, i.e. programmed manufacturing processes, and the actual process as performed in workshops and on production lines.
MC-SUITE seeks to develop a new generation of advanced tools for simulating industrial processes through the use of cutting-edge technology applied to functions such as data acquisition, chatter analysis, monitoring and measuring of key physical aspects for manufacturing of the final product.
The results of the initiative will be put to the test in key sectors such as aeronautics, automotive and the sector for manufacturing bulky parts.
