Plug and Produce Components for Optimum Dynamic performance Manufacturing Systems
Currently machine tools are complex structures full of sensors and actuators. However, the measurement and action points in these systems are generally outside the cutting zone and frequently the bandwidth is not sufficiently wide to prevent vibrations and ensure good dynamic behaviour. The DYNXPERTS project has overcome these limitations with the introduction of actuators and sensors installed as close as possible to the machining point. This project, with IK4-IDEKO as project leader, has resulted in 3 patents and two new products for the machine tool sector.
VISIT WEBSITEThe creation of manufacturing systems with easy-to-implement devices (according to the "Plug-and-Produce" philosophy), capable of adapting their properties and performance to the changing conditions of the process.
These "plug-and-produce" components will be self-sufficient provided with intelligence, with built-in advanced sensing systems and actuator functions, and several applications are in turn based on smart materials.
The main result of this project has been the development of a series of "plug-and-produce" components for improving process productivity and quality in the chain of production, specifically in machine tools, a key component in production processes.
These "plug-and-produce" components will be self-sufficient provided with intelligence, with built-in advanced sensing systems and actuator functions, and several applications are in turn based on smart materials.
The developed "plug-and-produce" components have built-in sensors, advanced actuators, easy-to-use software and, in several applications, intelligent materials. The easy installation in machine tools allows their functionality and productivity to be increased, so more complex operations are possible while at the same time risk of defects and accidents are reduced.
