In an increasingly globalised industrial environment, nowadays it is not enough to sell efficient, high-quality products at a competitive price. So that companies can continue to exist or compete, a fast and effective technical support service must also be offered to their customers, irrespective of their location. This presents a significant challenge to the managers of companies when determining the location of these service points and when allocating resources and materials to them.
This article is focused on the allocation of human resources to the TSS service points, as well as the location of the TSS service point by discrete element simulation. For this, a real case will be presented in which, by means of the developed tools, the TSS was optimised of one of the DANOBATGROUP companies, a manufacturer of machine tools. This work was carried out using a Discrete Event Simulation program and subsequent exploitation of the results using a spreadsheet.
