IDEKO will make a 180-degree turn in laser manufacturing over the next three years with the recent launch of the European project LaserWay, which aims to replace current polluting processes with flexible, high-speed laser technology, shaping a more resilient and sustainable industry in the EU.
As the coordinator of the initiative, the technology center will focus on three main applications: laser microperforation, laser blanking, and Extreme High-Speed Laser Applications (ELHA). These processes face challenges related to photonics, machine dynamics, and programming—issues that LaserWay addresses 'with the goal of delivering unprecedented productivity gains in laser processing and promoting sustainable manufacturing in Europe.'"
