The implementation of monitoring and diagnostic solutions to optimize the productivity and efficiency of advanced manufacturing equipment is one of the main focuses of the technology center IDEKO in the field of machine tools.
The developments, based on artificial intelligence (AI), have much to offer in improving industrial production and facilitate the processing of an increasing volume of data. This contributes to improving decision-making agility and achieving greater competitiveness in an increasingly complex market.
This initiative, which is also the result of close collaboration with the entire industrial ecosystem, has translated into several pilot programs aimed at both the monitoring of critical machine components and the detection of anomalies in manufacturing processes.
One of IDEKO's most recent projects applying these concepts to production processes is Flex4Res, which has received eight million euros in funding from the European Union through the Horizon Europe program. Its objective is to provide an open platform to support the reconfiguration of the production chain for resilient manufacturing. In four industrial pilot cases, the consortium will test and validate solutions at different production levels, from the entire product value chain to machine and plant device levels.
The main challenge is to protect supply chains from disruptions, both external and internal, that can lead to revenue losses.
