IDEKO is participating in the European project ‘BioStruct’ with the aim of developing manufacturing processes that promote the use of biologically reinforced composites for structural applications.
The initiative is designed to transform the manufacturing landscape of components and expand the range of applications in which biocomposites can be used. Currently, around 80 percent of these fibers are produced outside of Europe, leading to a significant dependence on other nations.
To address this challenge, the project aims to develop solutions by 2026 to integrate natural fibers, such as hemp and flax, into manufacturing processes.
