Both entities have taken advantage of the celebration of the International Machine Tool Biennial in Bilbao to present the collaboration.
Renishaw and IDEKO the research center have presented this morning, within the framework of the International Machine Tool Biennial (BIEMH) in Bilbao, a collaboration agreement between both entities for the next three years, under which they will share technologies, equipment and human capital, as well as jointly carry out projects.
"We are very excited about this alliance with IDEKO, with whom we share DNA," said Leonardo Marqués, Sales Director of Renishaw Ibérica, a company specializing in intelligent manufacturing systems, measurement and additive manufacturing. Thanks to the agreement, Renishaw will have a space at IDEKO's facilities in Elgoibar (Gipuzkoa) to showcase its most advanced technologies, such as the AGILITY® 5-axis three-dimensional machines, several of its Equator™ gauges or equipment from its calibration division, including its new RCS T-90 robot calibrator.
For IDEKO, this agreement marks the beginning of a stable collaboration with the world's leading company in areas such as precision and metrology, which are key to the center's specialization. "We are embarking on a joint journey that ranges from collaboration at laboratory level to the integration of advanced solutions in machines and production lines, thus consolidating a future of innovation and excellence in precision," said Rafa Lizarralde, IDEKO's Technology and Transfer Director.
Renishaw and IDEKO share a point of union that has facilitated their rapprochement: Danobatgroup, an industrial group specializing in the development of advanced manufacturing solutions of which IDEKO is a technological partner and Renishaw is a historical supplier of technology in many of its product lines.
The context for announcing the agreement was no coincidence, since machine tool solutions is a strategic business area for both partners and the Basque Country is a leading region in this type of technology, concentrating the majority of machine tool manufacturers and distributors in the country.
