IDEKO showcases at MeetechSpain how to accelerate and optimize the manufacturing of aeronautical components.

The technological center IDEKO, a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), has a significant presence at this year’s MeetechSpain, an event organized by the Spanish Federation of Technological Centers (FEDIT).

Ander Azkarate, head of national projects and programs at IDEKO, addressed intelligent and sustainable aeronautical production on the first day of the event yesterday.

The event gathers key players in applied research and takes place in Madrid. During the event on June 13 and 14, IDEKO is featuring its own exhibition space at MEEU, a versatile venue located near Madrid’s financial hub. This platform allows the center to display its capabilities and the latest advancements in advanced manufacturing technologies to the public.

One of the highlights of the first day of MeetechSpain was the presentation by Ander Azkarate, who is responsible for national projects and programs at IDEKO. He discussed a project focused on intelligent and sustainable aeronautical production, which falls within the scope of advanced and smart manufacturing and the digitalization of the aeronautical sector.

The project aims to explore automation and robotics technologies to expedite and enhance the manufacturing processes of essential aircraft components. This initiative is part of IDEKO’s commitment to reducing emissions and the environmental footprint of composite material manufacturing in the aeronautical industry.
