Development of a prototype for the inspection of solid and hollow railway axles.

Within the framework of the European AxleInspect project, IK4-Ideko has designed a prototype for the inspection of railway axles that integrates complementary inspection technologies (electromagnetic and ultrasonic) for the complete inspection of both solid axles and hollow axles (used on high speed trains).

The prototype is being evaluated in the laboratory and in service (railway maintenance stations). Project acronym:

Further to the prototype design, IK-4-Ideko is designing the software for carrying out, analysing and assessing the inspections of the two solutions developed in the project.

The partners have met recently at the University of Zut. Szczecin-era in Poland to hold the project mid-term meeting.
